Who are we?
The Change the World Movement is a social idea whose time has come. This movement will Enlighten, Empower and Engage visitors to move toward making more conscious decisions with regard to the feelings of others and acknowledge the impact our actions may have on them. We as a human race must seize the moments of time that we are blessed to share; celebrating life, valuing each other and standing up for what is right.
CWM was born from the ideas of social entrepreneur, Johnnie Williams III, an ordinary man with an extraordinary desire to see change in the world.
Focussed upon connecting and recruiting global activist through the creation of a social web portal, Johnnie enlisted the support of web activist Cadre Collective. Together, they have embarked upon a long term journey towards what may be one of their greatest investments into the promotion and development of positive social movements.
Where did the idea come from?
Just as calm waters show equal respect to both a huge rock and a small pebble in the form of ripples. CWM will respectfully showcase the movements of many awesome people from across the globe, whether it be their small gestures of kindness or the monumental efforts of some to end genecide. Johnnie wanted to see a place on the internet were the good deeds of others were celebrated and showcased. The idea for creating this website was not about promoting his efforts or accomplishments. The focus was upon the creation of an user friendly web portal that will list by category thousands of other movements accessible through the world wide web.
To the credit of Cadre Collective, an idea for creating a “Great List” was born. Taking from a growing list of over 1,000 names and personal pledges collected online by Johnnie. The team of web designers proposed creating a one mile long web page (the longest of any on the internet today) with the first names of citizens willing to get in the habit of doing one good deed for another each day. This has become one of the main components on the website.

How are we funded?
CWM is currently funded by Johnnie Williams III, who has committed more than half of his public speaking revenue to continue the development and maintenance of this website. Cadre Collective has served as an additional investor, donating countless hours of web design, research and support. Jerome "JYD" Williams has donated his time and a custom designed Ford Excursion for our exclusive use to promote the website at schools throughout the US and Canada. CWM will sustain itself in the future through online donations, social marketing (banner) campaigns and online auctions and CWM merchandise that will remain moderately priced.
Who makes it happen?
I do. You do. Each of us does. There are millions of people all around the world and some right next door that are taking the steps to make a personal commitment to change our world. The “Great List” is just one of the ways that we honor and thank those of you that are committed to both change within oneself as well as change in communities around the world. We must work collaboratively to bring about change globally.
